Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson instantly became the team’s primary downfield target upon arriving to Tampa Bay in 2012 and he turned in another big-time performance Sunday afternoon.
Jackson entered the game with 134 yards on the season and exceeded that total in New Orleans by securing eight Mike Glennon passes for 144 yards. It’s the 10th time the 10-year veteran out of Northern Colorado has topped 100 yards in a game as a member of the Bucs, good for fifth-most in franchise history. Jackson’s 2,886 receiving yards with Tampa Bay are the 11th most in team history.
Team staff members compile and release a number of statistics following each Buccaneers game. Here’s a collection of those numbers.
OTHER NOTABLE STATS FOLLOWING SUNDAY’S GAME IN NEW ORLEANS:
That is great, when I talk to a Saints, Panthers, or Falcons fan I will brag to them about his 10th 100 yard reception game. They will be suitably impressed I’m sure, while they are laughing at our 1 and 4 record on the inside, oh no, correction, not on the inside, they will ROFL right in front of me, because the Bucs are big fat losers and will rub it in my face because they can and because they are right.
Congrats to V-Jax! That’s pretty good, but if the Bucs have bad season, I wonder how they will view his production. He will be 32 in January and has a 12.2mil cap number in 2015. Been a lot of drops lately for that kind of money. Will be interesting to see how Licht handles this one!
