Oh pewter report you’re going to get harassed for this story, although I agree completely.
Interesting side note in that the bucs have a scheduled private workout with mariota , the exact same day as winstons pro day.

Wow didn’t realize those were on the same day. Interesting to say the least.

I just read that the report of the workouts on the same day is not correct. Mariota is April 7th, I didn’t think that made much sense.

Yeah I tweeted it was wrong. It is the following Tuesday not this week. Bucs will be in Tally on Tuesday.

I heard M.M.’s work out is in Eugene, shouldn’t it be at 1 Buc? Most people go to the company for a job interview, not the other way around.

    Good points. Very upbeat.

I like the play he makes to avoid the pressure. And yes, there’s good ball placement in the other clips.

I’m not going to belabor the point of who goes #1, but why should anyone listen to Chris Simms. He is an expert what. And yes I said “WOW” about 18 times last year, like “wow” which linebacker was he throwing to. If you are going to have an expert, find one qualified.

when your dad is a 2 times super bowl champion & 14 year NFL QB & you’re a 7 year NFL QB plus experience as a coach w/ the Patriots i’d say he’s more than qualified to opine on the top QB prospects LOL

Trent Dilfer is one of the best analysts around and was by no means a great QB. He’s good because he has the experience in the NFL, knows how it works and clearly works at it. If pro success made a good evaluator why isn’t Michael Jordan the best executive of all time then?

I’m sold on him being the best QB in this draft; however, I still want to think if the Bucs were offered the Titans No. 1 & 2 this year No. 1 or 2 next year and their present QB; I would consider the trade. That could be the reason why Mariota is getting another look at TB? PewterReport Mark; what do you think?

Simms’ noting of “wow” plays is exactly why I have been impressed with Winston since he stepped on the field as a nineteen year old red-shirt Freshman. If all you saw were the interceptions Bucmeister, you are looking through biased eyes probably based on your off field perspective. Mariota’s “wow” plays are always about him running. Nice to have, but we all know it’s passing prowess that really counts. Virtually every “expert” agrees with Simms. I’ve heard no one dispute Winston’s passing ability, football intelligence, work ethic or leadership qualities. Whose opinion do you value and consider valid other than your own? You don’t have to be an expert to see beauty comes in many forms. Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Anston? Brad Pitt likes tattoo’s and a bit of sultry. Me, I prefer the more wholesome looking Jennifer. But both look “wow” to even a novice observer.

Scu-“Mariota’s “wow” plays are always about him running” that statement alone tells me you are basing it off of “youtube highlights” and haven’t watched him over the past 3 yrs like I have, my cousin said something else too that was inaccurate from youtube highlights he said “Mariota can’t throw on run”lol, I have watched about 20 games of mriota to your two at best so trust me both of you are dead wrong my friend

No JonnyG, I haven’t seen Mariota play as often as you. But, I’ve never gone to Youtube to evaluate players either. It’s based on the networks always showing Mariota running as if those are the plays that demonstrate his “Wow” play ability. I think Mariota is a good passer too. But my point was directed at Bucmeister focusing on Winston’s interceptions as “wow” plays without at least acknowledging the kids ability.

Winston was a great college QB. Great. He was clutch. He made all the throws. He showed incredible leadership in the huddle or his first pre game speech. He inspired confidence in those around him. He made some silly mistakes off the field that any kid could make(hooking up with bar girls, shouting an obscene meme publicly, shoplifting). My problem with the Bucs selecting him is he won’t survive the season. He may have avoided the pressure and hits in college, but the NFL isn’t as slow. Bucs offensive line will get him killed. People want to compare him to Andrew Luck. Let’s do that. In Luck’s first 3 seasons, no QB took more punishment. He was the most sacked and the most hit QB in years 1 & 2 with 41 and 32 sacks respectively. And that could have been worse. He is so big, that many times he got rid of the ball with defenders draped all over him. Andrew Luck ran a 40 that was as fast as Cam Newton. He had over 250 yards rushing on 60+ carries each year. Show me Winston getting rid of the ball while being dragged down. I have looked and can’t find that footage. Winston would be a great QB in the right system. Put him on the Rams, he could be great. Put him on the Titans, fine. Put him in pewter and red and he will get killed. And then the impatient fan base will start in…on Lovie, on Koetter, on Licht and of course on Winston. Then the Bucs are starting all over again in 2-3 years. I agree with Horse, trade down and stockpile picks to fix what ails the Bucs…the O line, RB, DE.

The only thing trading trading down will secure is L&L looking for new jobs on 2016.

I understand some of what some of you say but, to be honest there isn’t much separation in the first and second round or better yet third round offensive lineman. If need be you can redshirt Jameis this year and find better lineman next year. To not draft a lineman and settle on Brandon sheriff is foolish. There is no Orlando pace not even a greg Robinson in this draft. They are several linemine in round 2-4 on the same level as Brandon sheriff or maybe even better prospect.

The Bucs will get a new QB one way or another and take some picks to plug a few holes which some will work out and others not so much. They will be marginally better this year. It will not be a one year turn-around and so it will be excruciating at times, but I will watch them anyway. I hope Winston or whoever doesn’t get pummeled into unconsciousness, or other injury, as I have my doubts on how much better the OLine will be this year. I am thinking some, but not nearly enough.
