Just Grillin sponsors PewterReport.com’s Pewter Player of the Week, which is given to Tampa Bay’s MVP as selected by the PewterReport.com staff every Tuesday following the most recent game.
Tampa Bay fell to 6-9 on the season after another disappointing loss – this time to Chicago by the score of 26-21. The Bucs offense was aided by the play of running back Charles Sims, who totaled 117 yards and a touchdown on seven touches. Sims caught his fifth touchdown of the season on a 50-yard pass from quarterback Jameis Winston in the third quarter to give Tampa Bay a 14-13 lead. Sims leads the Bucs with five touchdown catches on the season, which is a personal best.
Sims had 45 yards rushing on four carries (11.3 avg.), including a 29-yard run in the second half against the Bears, and led all receivers with 72 yards on three catches (24.0 avg.).
For his efforts, Sims is this week’s Just Grillin Pewter Player of the Week.
Sims has posted career highs in several categories this year, including 514 yards on 103 carries (5.0 avg.). He also has 487 yards and five touchdowns on 42 catches (11.6 avg.) this year. Sims needs just 13 more receiving yards to have 500 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving on the year.
Sims has 1,001 total yards on the year. Coupled with Doug Martin’s 1,565 yards from scrimmage, Tampa Bay is the only team that has two running backs with over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in the league this year.
This is only the second time this has been accomplished in Bucs history. The first came in 1999 when Mike Alstott and Warrick Dunn also each topped 1,000 yards of total offense.
Because he’s this week’s Just Grillin Pewter Player of the Week, Sims will receive a certificate $50 gift certificate to Just Grillin in Carrollwood.

Well Sims wouldn’t have gotten those yds without the fine blocking of one TE Stocker last weeks “player of the week” for having 3 catches and 25 yds, lol Glad to see PR raise their standards for being recognized for “player of the week” it was beginning to be embarrasing
You haven’t taken those meds like I suggested, have you jongruden?
Plese tell me you aren’t in any type of position of authority where you have some sort of power over employees.
Ha- You would be surprised to know what I do for a living. I won’t say cause I don’t want my work disclosed on something like this type of venue. Drdnest do you judge people by what they do for a living? Sounds kind of judgmental wouldn’t ya think? I hate Stocker as a player therefore I hope I don’t have my own business or have any power over people, lol yeah that makes sense. Are you related to Stocker? If so I will back off cause you must be proud relative to have the best blocking TE in the league and hey he will get a 10 yr career in Tampa so congrats
Well your the one that said “Martin doesn’t get those yds without the stellar blocking from Stocker” so same theory goes for Sims too right?
jonnyg is a process server drdneast. He seeks out people who he considers frauds. Guys that claim to be TE’s but are really small tackles.
