I like how Evans is loyal to Glennon and doesn’t just assume the job is Jameis’s. I sure hope the coaching staff takes that approach as well. Give Jameis tons of reps as 1st team QB but make him earn the actual starting job.

Agreed, anointing McCown upon signing last year was a disaster for our QB, Oline, and RB play. Glennon has hung tough through the Schiano-Lovie drama and plays heads-up football; he’s earned the opportunity to compete for 1st string. I think putting Jameis on the back-burner to start out will teach him some humility and supercharge his competitive edge…although I’m dying to see Mariota/Winston go head to head

Do the Cowboys not need to follow the same salary cap rules as the rest of us…or do the rest of us just not get that we’re allowed to spend money too…how does L Collins sign with the Cowboys???

    1. 2.1

UDFA have a restricted maximum salary (low compared to veterans) about 500-800k/year and they can renegotiate after 2 years…typically none of it is guaranteed..as for Collins they guaranteed him the whole 1.7mill over 3 years (~570k/year) as a condition to get him to play in Dallas. Collins would have been stupid to join the reigning worst O-line in football..let’s be honest

Yeah… The basically got a free first rounder. Maybe he grew up a cowpokes fan and that’s why he signed with them. Lame… Maybe one day, a coveted player will join the Bucs because he was a Winston fan growing up.

Maybe we should’ve spent a 7th Round pick on l. Collins

Most players like the star on the helmet. Not many players want to play for the Bucs. Another reason Winston was a good choice, he wanted to play for the Bucs. Maybe in two or three years Tampa will be the hot place for to play.

Well Jameis gave him a few calls ,but I never held out hope the Glazers and Land L would take a chance on him. They took some heat for Jameis and I didn’t think they would go the route of Collins. You know Jerry doesn’t give two shit’s about image. He’s all about the wins.He basically got three first round talents for one first round pick.

I’m kind of hoping it blows up in their faces like Hardy…can’t stand the Cowgirls

    Buc on the Move

Terrible interview on Evans part. Lots of contradictions in what he said. I guess as long as he can ball, that’s the main thing that matters…public speaking will come in time.
