The Clemson Alabama game was a heckuva college football championship game, ending in a shootout in the fourth quarter. I’m not a fan of either team but I’m a fan of the college game, and what we saw last night ranks amongst the best college games in memory.

Very impressed with Coach Swinney, and his now-retired quarterback, Deshaun Watson. Some are pooh-poohing him in the draft as a second day pick … that may be so, just as the Heisman voters pooh-poohed him two years running. But I sure like how he led his team psychologically, by example, with his own playmaking both running and passing. He also incredibly had four different receivers catch balls for between 92 and 96 yards … talk about distributing the ball to his playmakers!

Loved Mike Williams too. He’s too much like Mike Evans to fill our needs today, but he’s going to do well in the NFL. And I loved Boulware on the defense – what a motor! Fun guy to have on your team.

Now, if only the NFL playoffs were half as entertaining … the wild card round was snoozer-city … other than Texas @ NE, the divisional round games at least look closely matched and entertaining on paper.

btw – I loved Watson’s exhortation to his players in the huddle for their last drive of the game, with a 2 minutes and 7 seconds left on the clock:

      “Let’s be legendary!”

I had Clemson to win everyone was giving me 7to10 points. I was concerned after long TD pass.
But the fourth qt. worked out with Clemson having the ball last that was a GREAT 4th qt.
