The Buccaneers released kick and punt returner Trindon Holliday, who was suffering from a hamstring injury. Tampa Bay signed returner and wide receiver Marcus Thigpen from the practice squad. Thigpen will handle the kick and punt return duties against the Browns in Cleveland this week.
The Bucs also activated rookie RB Charles Sims from the injured reserve-designated return list and promoted defensive tackle Matthew Masifilo from the practice squad to the active roster.

Halloween is now over, but Lovie is still bobbing for apples. Did anyone think Holiday was going to turn our return game around? He had a rep for injury, and fumbling, and guess what? He fumbled, and pulled his hammy! Here’s a fact Lovie, with where teams kick off now returns rarely make it back to the 20, so you really don’t need a kick returner. As far as punts go, you just need someone with good hands who won’t put the ball on the ground. If he can get you ten yards it’s a bonus. Some of these roster moves are baffling. Page would of been our best option.
Actually one guy named Kino thought Holliday was our savior. Seems like he counted his chickens before they hatched.
Yes an upgrade in the fact that an experienced nfl return man does not constantly bring the ball out from 7 yards deep and put the offense 1st and 10 from the 16 , do the math num nuts!! The diff between scoring starting at the 20 vs the 16 with the bucs offense is prob gonna be somewhere around a 10 percent difference.Cant have fumbles either also can’t have field goal kickers that come out low, that’s not why he got blocked this weekend, well a tad because every team knows they have a chance with it coming out low and they smell blood.Yes holiday is a much more talented return guy than Patton but can’t have fumbles
Cough Devin Hester cough cough…
EP was as stud at Toledo, he had a terrible injury his rookie year. He was a top tier return man last year with better stats than anybody that has returned a kick for the bucs this year and anybody that was in the league last year on this team. Lovie has blown hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to replace him with inferior players and wasted draft picks(sheppard and herron 8 catches between them). EP could replace both and return kicks. Maybe we could have more O-line or DBs, that would be great. I knew Holiday would be hurt, how did Lovie not? Pewter Report please address this. just the handling of this situation is a microcosm of how lovie handles this whole team. media said many times how Page had great hands, could take a hit and looked like the class of the return competition during camp.
This team is like a chicken with it’s head cut off. Major problems with below average players and a head coach that has no direction. LS is a big disappointment as a head coach IMO.
If Eric Page was so great than he wouldn’t be a free agent. If return game wasn’t important, then Devin Hester wouldn’t be getting 3 million this year. No coach could’ve turned this team into a playoff team first year. The pieces just were not there. Defense with Revis was still letting major plays through. Bucs have had a lot of injuries on defense too this year. The OL isn’t good, better play was expected from Collins and Dietrich-Smith and Oniel was supposed to be passable. Last years team had so many OL penalties. I am not jumping ship on LiLo just yet. Give em two more years. If they are less than 7 wins next year, need to re-evaluate. Love Lovie’s draft picks too, Evans ASJ, Sims (maybe), Herron has possibilities too. If you are jumping ship, you do not understand the NFL and would be better off watching and following a different team anyways.
