Yes they do. It’s required since it’s an upgrade for Koetter from coordinator to head coach. If it was a lateral move to interview as a coordinator somewhere else, the Bucs could deny that.

I still think Goodwin would be a great fit here as well. Scott said it best, never be surprised with the Glaziers. Koetter still might be the guy, but something could be cooking with Licht.

“It seems obvious that Jason Licht’s assertion that the Bucs would conduct a thorough but swift search was not a lie to hide their interest in Koetter.” SB NATION

    Go Bucs!!!

if the 49ers offer Koetter the job he’ll take because he want to be back on the west coact.. so now winston will be with a new HC and OC next year… just wonderful LOL

I am amazed that Koetter confides in Pewter Report posters regarding his career goals.

My prediction, News conference on Wed introducing Koetter next head coach. Koetter will have the rest of his life to live out West. At best he gets 3-5 years to work with Jameis. Why leave a franchise Q.B., who you’ve personally groomed?

The only thing I wonder, do Licht, and Nick Saben, have any connection from their ties to Belichek?

Koetter might become our HC, but I don’t see his style of leadership working. As an OC it’s fine, but not as a Coach. I believe we need either a strong College Head Coach or a past NFL Head Coach. Of course my opinion means nothing to the Bucs, but my gut says don’t pick Koetter as the HC. Go Bucs!.

If Koetter becomes the guy, the new D.C. will have to be good. Is Cullen in line? I would think so. Nickerson? Possibly. They’d better not run what got Lovie fired.
