Sorry to see him go but understand why he is. Many thanks go to Mr. Mankins!!!!!

Well he will be missed but this open cap room gets larger and larger. We have to pursue some of these guys in free agency. If we lose Martin that will be four guys this last week we’ve lost. Depth is becomin a scary issue

Guard position already a weak area when it comes to depth just got worse, go sign Boone from SF

Answer your own question. If they won’t sign Doug Martin, why would they sign the most expensive guard in free agency? Wishful thinking! Not going to happen!

      1. 3.1.1

That’s the problem Mac- they won’t sign the players needed to make a difference

and I don’t think Boone will be the highest in free agency I think its Kemele from baltimore

Kelechi Osemele helped his earning potential this offseason by playing and thriving at left tackle in the wake of OT Eugene Monroe being injured.

Osemele will earn more if he is taken as an OG/OT where he is expected to play LOT.

I remember when Mankins was drafted by the Patriots at the bottom of the 1st round he was considered a huge reach as he was considered a low 2nd rounder or high 3rd rounder. Even though I always hated the Patriots I always kind of rooted for him and was glad that he found such NFL success. I’m glad he ended his career on a high note with the Bucs and I wish him the best in retirement.

We seem to be creating more holes than we are filling in the early stages of FA…and we have a lot to fill. Let’s hope we quickly start reversing the trend. And moreover, please do something at safety other than bring back Conte and McDougald…another year of our secondary getting toasted over and over is going to be a problem for Licht…and will make whatever DE we get look incompetent…IMO

I remember PR having Mankins being our best bet in the second round. I remember also thinking that New England must have spies somewhere because they went ahead of us to get him. Turns out we were right.

Great article, but I don’t think Logan Mankins has any Superbowl rings if I remember correctly. He was drafter the year after the Pats won their 3rd SB with Brady and was traded the season they beat the Seahawks. Bad luck for Mankins I guess. Good luck to you Logan Mankins! Will be missed by the Bucs for sure!

Absolutely correct. I misread, 2 x AFC champion.

Yea, was going to point that out. That’s a pretty bad miss. The guy has 0 rings and you said he has two, lol.

Wish he would have .stayed one more year because his leadership was invaluable and he was more than capable athletically to play.
I wonder what if feels like to walk away from a $7 million job.

Gee drdneast, aren’t you going to call Patriots owner Robert Kraft “greedy” or a “cheapskate” for trying to force Mankins to take a pay cut then in effect, fire him? And shouldn’t you commend the Glazers for being willing to compensate him for his services?
