Just reading between the lines with press Conference both L & L talked about wanting to win now; making us competitive now, leadership; being able to extend the pocket time, and pocket presence, all spells Winston.

Well, if it is not Winston, it will be another debacle of a Bucs draft no matter the rest of the choices.

Nov. 25, 2012: A woman calls 911 to report that there are two men on a bike path on the Florida State University campus with what appears to be a black, long-barreled pistol. Police respond and draw their guns as they approach Jameis Winston and his roommate and teammate, Chris Casher, and ultimately handcuff them. The two tell the officer they were shooting at squirrels with a pellet gun, and they are released without charges being filed.
Nov. 25, 2012: A few hours after the incident on the bike path, Winston, Casher and two other Florida State players, Mario Edwards and Kenneth “P.J.” Williams, allegedly engage in a BB- and pellet-gun battle at their apartment house, inflicting an estimated $4,000 in damage. Management at the apartment house declines to press criminal charges after an FSU athletic official vows that the players will pay for the damage.
Dec. 7, 2012: Winston is accused of raping a woman at his off-campus apartment. The woman reports the assault to police that day and five weeks later calls a detective and identifies Winston as her attacker after seeing him in a class. Tallahassee police drop the investigation, contending the woman has refused to cooperate, then revive it nine months later and sent it to State Attorney Willie Meggs. Meggs conducts a new investigation but concludes that there is not enough evidence to file criminal charges. Winston’s lawyer contends the sexual encounter was consensual. The U.S. Department of Education later launches a federal investigation of the school’s handling of the incident after questions arise about whether Florida State followed the provisions of Title IX, and in August 2014 the school launches an investigation of Winston under the student code of conduct.
July 21, 2013: Winston is accused of entering a Burger King in Tallahassee and helping himself to soda from the fountain machine without paying for it. A restaurant employee later tells police she gave Winston a cup of water but that he poured the water out and helped himself to several cups of soda despite her objections. No charges are filed.
April 29, 2014: Winston is accused of stealing $32.72 worth of crab legs from a Tallahassee supermarket. He is given a civil citation that allows him to perform community service and is suspended from the FSU baseball team until he completes that work. Winston tells police he “forgot” to pay for the crab legs and publicly apologizes.
May 20, 2014: Winston is expected at a code-of-conduct hearing for Chris Casher and Ronald Darby, two FSU teammates who alleged the witnessed a portion of the sexual encounter involving the quarterback and the woman who accused him of rape. They are both accused of violating school rules. Winston does not show up for the hearing, and his lawyer contends that no one from the school ever asked him to be there – something that is disputed by attorneys involved in the process. However, FSU officials later acknowledge that they have no way to force a witness to attend a code-of-conduct hearing.
Sept. 16, 2014: Winston is seen by several students jumping up on a table on campus and screaming a sexually charged expletive-laced phrase that was made popular on the internet. FSU head football coach Jimbo Fisher suspends Winston for the first half of the team’s upcoming game with Clemson, and school officials vow that he will be subject to “internal discipline” – most likely under the school’s code of conduct. Winston apologizes.
Oct. 13, 2014: ESPN reports that FSU’s compliance department is investigating whether Winston accepted money in exchange for autographs. The university’s athletic director issues a statement on Oct. 17, explaining that the compliance staff looking into whether Jameis Winston accepted unauthorized benefits for his autograph has “no information indicating that he accepted payment for items reported to bear his signature, thereby compromising his athletics eligibility.

We’re all so thankful that you could fill our screen space with old news. Was that copy and paste, or did you type that yourself?

eddy1timeinla; not even close to the important facts about the non rap; the rest was minor thingswhen you know the whole story. As a landlord to some of the FSU football players over the years, yes it does happen, and yes they do pay for the damages and fraternities are worse. It’s not that big of a deal.

Ancient history eddy. What’s your point? All about an immature 19 year old. Not exactly the makings of a menace to society. Can’t you imagine JW going to his cell with a bunch of true criminals and being laughed at when he lists his “crimes”? You do realize Winston’s never been arrested.

Giving up 18 interceptions to college level DB’s, he should do a lot better this year against professional talent I am sure 😉

Ryan threw 19 INTs his last year in college against a much easier schedule than Winston played.

Here’s he thing- Bucs need a spark..Do they get it from a straight laced Hawaiian kid who quiet and soft spoken? I like the kid but he has about as much personality as instant mashed potatoes…We can draft him and he will make an occasional Highlight reel but we remain the same old Tampa…
Or do you roll the dice with contender number 2- Jaboo Winston? We live in a day where Kim and Kanye have media influence and no press is bad press- as long as people are talking, you are making money…Jaboo could be the Mayweather of the gridiron.his on field work can get him on Sporstscenter- his press conferences on Kimmel. The debates will rage if it’s syrupy swag or the Jibber jabber of an idiot- either way,all eyes on him,all eyes on Tampa…Just as many people will tune in to watch him succeed as they will to watch him fail- and that’s just within our fanbase! He has the ability to polarize the NFL and it’s fanbase- again all eyes on him,all eyes on Tampa…Jaboo is the pick if we want to bring attention back to Tampa.
You gotta pick the guy people love or love to hate- not the kid that everyone agrees is a swell guy…one guy is fun at a party, the other is a reliable dog sitter…My money is on Winston…

Interceptions don’t happen when you drink and dunk five yard passes. They do however, happen in Seattle.

When we’re down by 20, and Mariota is sitting by himself on the bench with his helmet on, then we’ll see if the fans still love his quiet leadership. Fans loved Dungy, until we were being whipped while he stood on the sidelines emotionless. I’m with Crem, give me Winstons passion,I want to know the guys I root for feel worse then I do after a loss. Here’s what sticks with me. When asked by Gruden Mariota said he doesn’t care where he goes in the draft. Contrast Winston saying he’d be hurt, calling Tampa his home town team. I want the guy who wants us!! I want that fire, and passion from my QB.

cgmaster27: it was copy and paste. Thanks for commenting. This blog smells of stinky desperation. Some Tampa fans are so desperate they are willing to sell their souls to the devil for a QB, that is one arrest away from failure. It is not immaturity. Stealing is not immaturity, rape is not immaturity, they are major character flaws that once you mix with big money will be disatarous. Yeah, I would take the quiet kid with dink and dunk passes that wins games. We will see how dedicated JW is when he’s out partying in Tampa acting a fool. I can’t wait until you all eat your words. Just remember I told you so 😉

Oh and Winston is no Matt Ryan nor will he ever be. He is a big mouth kid who talks a big game who’s going to be a flop.

  11. 11

Mariota and our new spread offense I don’t think teams will be able to stop us. Catch us if you can…. Pasadena !

Eddy, I’m one of the very few that will agree with you. We live in a society that looks over character flaws and always says “Yea but he’s 18, what do you expect”. Especially desperate teams that have suffered for years (Tampa).

Don’t lie, all of you were clamoring to draft Johnny Manziel as well, even though his immaturity screamed “I told you so” and the Browns fell head first.

Tampa is about to make a HUGE mistake by taking Winston here. There are 100 examples of guys who athletically COULD be leaders, but the important reasons as to WHY they never did are ALL things that you can’t put your finger on, they get overlooked, especially by the fans.

Way more than being a leader Tampa fans than ON-THE-FIELD performance.

Just like I told you so with Josh Freeman, this one is even easier. Count me in as saying no way this guy has what it takes to be great. Like Eddie, remember I said that and feel free to hold me to it.
