Bella MedSpa Week 14: Pewter Player Of The Game – WR Mike Evans
Winning the Pewter Player of the Game award has become a familiar accomplishment to Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Evans, who hauls in the honors again this week. After not catching a touchdown last week against Cincinnati, Evans came through with his eighth touchdown of the season on a 5-yard catch right before halftime to cut Detroit’s lead to 17-10.
Evans finished the first half with three catches for 19 yards. The rookie only had one more reception in the second quarter, but it was a 26-yard touchdown that required a great deal of concentration. Evans now has over 900 yards receiving on the season and 10 touchdowns, which is one shy of the franchise record, which was set by Mike Williams in 2010 during his rookie season.
The two touchdown catches on Sunday at Detroit mark the third game this season that Evans has hauled in that many scores, which is the most of any rookie wide receiver this season. Evans is closing in on being just the second rookie in Bucs history to reach 1,000 receiving yards during his initial season (Michael Clayton, 2004).
